Driving change with climate stories: Personal narratives and personal experience
The environmental community understands the need for stories to build public support for climate change mitigation, but there is a paucity of science-backed guidance for how to operationalize this engagement tool. DearTomorrow, a non-profit, climate-focused communications project founded on the principles of behavioral science, has been collecting “letters to the future” where people write a letter to a young loved one about their experience of the climate change problem in the present day and their engagement and intentions to engage in climate solutions to leave a better climate legacy. These letters are archived and published online at deartomorrow.org to be made available for letter recipients and future generations to read when they grow up.
