Mirta Galesic, PhD, Resident Faculty at the Complexity Science Hub Vienna and Professor at the Santa Fe Institute, presented the final SOCKS Speaker Series seminar of 2024. Her talk, "Networks of Beliefs in Individual and Collective Minds," detailed how perceived beliefs can shape a person's opinion about important issues.
Dr. Galesic presented to over 40 in-person and remote participants in the Jost Foundation Room of the University of Vermont's Davis Center. The presentation capped off a week-long visit to Vermont, during which time she spoke and collaborated with SOCKS researchers.
The SOCKS Speaker Series brings guest presenters to Vermont so they can share research and discoveries in fields pertinent to the SOCKS project. For more information about this series and other upcoming events at Vermont EPSCoR, visit uvm.edu/socks/events.
