Vermont EPSCoR is happy to once again offer the SOCKS Teacher Academy, an 18-credit fully online program for teachers seeking to add a computer science education endorsement to their license. Graduates of the Teacher Academy will receive a Graduate Certificate in Computer Science Education (CSE) from the University of Vermont (UVM).
 
Courses in the Teacher Academy are offered online once per week for 2 years. Once a teacher completes the program, they become eligible for computer science licensure. No additional practicum is required; the academy is open to all grade 7-12 teachers in any subject.
 

Required Courses

Participants in the Teacher Academy will complete the following required courses:

• EDCI 5001 - Python Programming for Educators
• EDCI 5002 - Java Programming for Educators
• EDCI 5003 - Web Design for Educators
• EDCI 5004 - Computer Organization for Educators
• EDCI 5005 - Data Science for Educators
